What is the strap that wraps behind a horse to help prevent bucking?

Two months ago I bought a young horse, and when I canter him he gets a little excited and bucks. Im trying to break his habit. I had a friend tell me there is a cinch or some kind of strap that goes around behind the horse, but she couldn't remember what it was called.
