Your thoughts on these split reins?

I have both split reins and roping reins. I ride both English and Western. I do mostly Western and trail ride. I do like my spilt reins, but if I'm out on a trail in which I have to go under stuff I usually will end up tying them together. It is to easy to drop a rein. I don't like my reins seperate unless I'm showing or riding in a ring. What I do if I'm riding and have my reins split then I cross them over the neck. Right rein will fall off left side and left rein off right. It helps if you do drop a rein. Also it depends on the horse you are riding also. All my horses I trained to stop with a one rein stop. If your horse don't do this then I wouldn't recomend it. You can train your horse to do this before you get split reins. If you decide to get them anyway then I would work in a arena where you can practice.
